Why This is Important

Climate risk is changing faster than many comunities and organisations are prepared for

Why is this happening?

"Although more than three-quarters of indicators are heading in the right direction, progress is alarmingly inadequate, exposing communities, economies and ecosystems to unacceptable risks"

- State of Climate Action 2025

The lack of rapid and deep emissions cuts has resulted in it no longer being possible to avoid +1.5ºC of warming.

We are expected to pass the +1.5ºC threshold soon and the +2ºC threshold within the next 10-15 years.

Passing these heating thresholds poses severe risks to billions of people.

What you will learn

By the end of this workshop you'll

Understand what what the climate risks are in a +1.5°C to +3°C world for your region and your sector.

Gain localized insights into climate hazards: heat, drought, floods, energy disruptions.

Learn to assess the economic and business risks of climate change, and how to build the case for action.

Create a step-by-step resilience roadmap for the next 6–12 months

Understand extreme weather projections for your area

During this programme we will explore all the projections for your area using the latest data available. We will explore what your risks are for heatwaves, extreme percipitation, drought, fire weather and sea-level rise. This knowledge is essential in order to plan ahead and develop adaptation and resilience strategies.

Workshop outline

The Climate Reality Check

We like to start the programme with a reality check. You will be provided with a global and regional climate science update: where we are now and where we are heading. This will include a local climate snapshot: heatwaves, rainfall shifts, drought, flood risks.

Economic Impacts

During this section we will examine the projected impact on both the local and global economy at various levels of heating.

Local Risk Mapping

Using the latest data we will overlay localized climate projections with your operations, communities, or assets. This will help you identify exposure hotspots and critical vulnerabilities

Building Your Resilience Roadmap

Develop a clear 6–12 month action roadmap that outlines priorities, assigns responsibilities, and aligns budgets and partnerships to drive implementation.
